This year the New Zealand Remuneration Network (RemNet) held its annual conference on the 1st & 2nd of November overlooking Auckland’s waterfront at the Hilton Hotel. The RemNet conference is a fantastic opportunity for HR and Rem specialists to network with a diverse range of other knowledgeable and like-minded experts.
This year’s conference was themed ‘Cutting Edge’, and as always, RemNet presented an illustrious mix of speakers. From different industries and backgrounds both international, for example, Mike Jury from Allianz Australia; and national, for example, Susan Hornsby-Geluk from Dundas Street (Employment Law), they discussed relevant and thought-provoking topics on NZ and global issues.
Top Companies
Top companies such as Coca-Cola Amatil NZ and Xero shared their remuneration and reward planning strategies and processes offering new ideas for consideration. Whilst Air New Zealand and Deloitte gave insight into their performance approaches.
RemNet Conference provides an open forum for discussion for both their members and non-members. These passionate professionals over the two days were encouraged and inspired to impart their experiences and thoughts around transparency, regionalised rem, policies and practices, gender gap, employee benefits, as well as many other key industry topics.
More than just a conference
Amongst the catch-ups over coffee, the panel discussions, the constructive brainstorming and the interactive breakout sessions, attendees had the option to attend an early evening networking function with complimentary drinks and canapes, and a Special Interest Group (SIG) Breakfast meeting on market trends and data insight held by Strategic Pay.
‘The Future of RemNet’ was an area of focus this year, to specifically target what it is the members and the wider rem community are interested in. From this information the RemNet committee hope to entice more organisations to become members and in turn have even more attendees from around the country attend the RemNet Annual Conference in 2017.
