Martie is a Senior Reward Consultant at Auckland Council, providing expert advice and support on Reward and Benefits across Council and CCOs. She started her career as HR Generalist and has managed Business Partnering, People Operations, Strategic Projects, Mobility and Reward in a large international company in South Africa prior to immigrating to New Zealand.
She has over 20 years’ experience in the private industry and started working in the public industry 4 years ago. She is passionate about getting companies and employees to understand their Total Reward offering and to drive continuous improvements that benefit both the organisation and employees.
Hannah is the Remuneration Consultant at Genesis Energy, working across the full spectrum of reward and benefits activities.
Having originally intended to become an Accountant before discovering HR at university, working in reward now provides the perfect blend of people and numbers.
Prior to her current role at Genesis, Hannah has worked in both specialist remuneration as well as generalist HR roles for a variety of organisations and industries including DHL, Vodafone, IAG and BNZ.
Irina partners with organisations as a contractor, helping them drive transformational initiatives in the field of organisational design, people analytics, employment cost and remuneration management. She has worked for a variety of local and international clients, both in Europe and New Zealand. Irina’s most recent engagement was working as Remuneration and Benefits Manager for one of New Zealand’s largest insurance brokers, where she worked closely with the executive team to develop and embed a remuneration framework, relevant workforce analytics, as well as reviewing the entire suite of sale incentives and introducing broader non-financial KPIs to reflect the changes in the financial services industry.
Outside of work Irina is a keen yogi(ni) and enjoys spending time with her kids and a large blended family of six.
Deanna-May is a Global Remuneration & Reward Consultant at Xero, supporting reward and benefits activities across New Zealand and global regions in order to attract and retain the best talent while the business continues to grow at pace.
Prior to joining Xero, Deanna-May was a Rewards Consultant for 5 years, working across industries to develop skills in job evaluation, benchmarking, pay structures and incentive scheme design at EY.
Julie originally undertook an HR Graduate programme for Debenhams Retail Head Office in London where she was given the opportunity to work across the different HR disciplines and quickly found her passion for Remuneration.
In 2010, Julie moved to New Zealand with her husband and children and joined IAG on a temporary basis before moving into a permanent Remuneration role working across New Zealand and Australia. Julie is currently working at Air New Zealand, where she thoroughly enjoys all the challenges that goes with working for a large, complex, global organisation. Julie is passionate about ensuring people are paid fairly for the work they do regardless of their individual circumstances for example, gender, age, ethnicity.
Chris is a Rewards Business Partner at Fonterra providing reward and performance advice to many and varied stakeholders across the Co-Operative. Prior to joining Fonterra, Chris worked as a reward consultant delivering simple and pragmatic reward solutions to many New Zealand organisations. Chris also spent a number of years working in the United Kingdom where he helped organisations to design and implement their employee benefit schemes in order to optimise their benefit spend.
Michaela is the Remuneration and HRIS Manager at AA Insurance, working across remuneration and benefits and also HR systems.
Before joining AA Insurance, Michaela has worked in generalist HR and remuneration roles in Auckland, London and Brisbane for large international organisations such as AECOM, Barclays Bank, Bechtel and Vodafone. Her favourite time of year is the Annual Remuneration Review – mostly because she loves a good project plan and it’s the only time of year everyone is guaranteed to want to talk about remuneration!
Over his 24 year working career, Ryan has gradually moved from an IT technical focus, through HRIS consultancy to remuneration and reward focused roles. He has been fortunate to work for large UK companies such as Virgin Media, O2 and Sky and many international NZ organisations, such as Air New Zealand, Orion Health and currently Xero. The last several years he has worked closely with executive teams and boards on strategy and initiatives that drive employee attraction and retention.

Craig is a Remuneration & Reward Consultant at Xero, helping them to attract and retain the best talent while continuing to scale and grow at speed. It’s no coincidence that Craig finds himself at Xero – he’s passionate about how technology can be used to do things differently, more efficiently and in a way that puts the customer at the centre. Craig’s previous experience includes specialist remuneration roles at Fletcher Building, SKYCITY Entertainment Group and Hay Group, with a particular focus on global remuneration, job architecture, analytics and HRIS.
Kathryn is a passionate global HR leader who is focused on delivering an outstanding experience across the employee life cycle. She has a particular interest in the development and delivery of best practice remuneration initiatives, system implementations and process improvement. During her career Kathryn has worked in both specialist remuneration and generalist HR roles across software, FMCG, manufacturing and healthcare industries. Kathryn is based in Wellington, New Zealand.
